Prevent injuries in your riding arena with the Equi-lizer!
Whether you ride recreationally, in basic sports or at (sub)top level, a riding track with a fine soil is important for your horse's health. The top layer of your riding arena can consist of natural or artificial materials such as wood chips, polyflakes or carpet fibres. To prevent injuries while exercising, ensure proper maintenance with the Equi-lizer. Get to know this popular machine!
A good bottom
Our climate with highly variable weather conditions makes it difficult to create a good and stable riding surface. In addition, what is meant by a ‘perfect riding surface’ varies from discipline to discipline. In general, a stable and resilient soil is optimal for proper performance. The horse's hoof needs to sink several centimetres in order to spring elastically and have sufficient grip. In addition may the ground does not contain potholes, sudden changes in texture or irregularities. This is because an uneven soil gives uneven loading, which can lead to injuries.
Moisture
In practice, soil is composed of two or three layers. The bottom layer forms the foundation, a possible middle layer and a top layer. Each layer has its own function. An important aspect for maintaining good soil is moisture. This is because too much moisture is undesirable (wet soil) and too little moisture makes the top layer dusty.
In addition, dehydration has the effect of preventing the sand from settling. The addition of water pulls down the fine sand particles, stabilising the soil. For both indoor and outdoor riding surfaces, this means that regular watering and moisture monitoring is necessary. A good riding surface consists of 10 to 15% of water.
Surfaces
Another important aspect for maintaining a good soil is to regularly drag the top layer. It is important that it is level and levelled. The moment (minimal) height differences occur, the soil loses its good properties. We have various soil levellers available for you to drag the roadway. This makes your maintenance a lot easier and saves a lot of (manual) work!
Equi-lizer
One of our popular machines is the Equi-lizer. Due to its small size, this soil leveller is very suitable for dragging a paddock or lunging circle. The Equi-lizer can be combined with different versions of our soil levellers, so you have the right maintenance for every soil!
Also, if you want to drag hoofs between workouts without a machine, we have the horseshoe lace teamfor you. This soil leveler is adjustable in tensile strength and suitable for any soil.
